    n. A commonly repeated cycle of software-development steps. Changes are made to the source code in an editor, and then the new code is compiled; finally, the executable is downloaded and run. If the software doesn’t work or does not yet support all of the required features, the cycle repeats. A typical day for most software developers includes numerous edit–compile–test cycles.
